Here at White Mountain we like to provide the best snowmobiling experience we can and want to make sure you know what to expect before joining us on a snowmobile adventure.

Know Before You Go

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

WE DO NOT PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FROM ANY LOCATION.
USING UBER OR LYFT IS NOT A GOOD CHOICE FOR TRANSPORTATION IN OUR HIGH MOUNTAIN AREA. CELL SERVICE IS OFTEN SPOTTY AND UNRELIABLE SO YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET A PICKUP AFTER YOUR TOUR. CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR LINKS TO SHUTTLE COMPANIES THAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE USED AND RECOMMEND.

Using Uber or Lyft is not a good choice for transportation in our high mountain area. Cell service is often spotty and unreliable so you might not be able to get a pickup after your tour. For more information on shuttle companies we recommend our customers use check out our Useful Links page.

EQUIPMENT

Helmets are provided. Ski helmets are not appropriate.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE SUITS, BOOTS OR GOGGLES. Guests must arrive in warm and appropriate winter clothing including jackets, pants, gloves, scarves, goggles or sunglasses. Please bring a scarf, face masks or neck gators. Arrive properly dressed or you will be unable to participate.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

Children under 4 may not participate. Guides cannot carry passengers. Pregnant ladies cannot participate. Children must weigh 60 pounds to participate. No one weighing more than 260 pounds can zip line.

LIABILITY WAIVER

A fully completed waiver is a requirement to participate in any and all activities, no exceptions. You can view our waiver here. Currently, all waivers are signed upon arrival. A credit card is required at check-in to be used in the rare event of damage. Damage is very rare but you must sign a STANDARD LIABILITY WAIVER BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN ANY ACTIVITY.

CANCELLATION POLICY

White Mountain has a 48-hour cancellation policy: A total refund can only be given if we are notified 48 hours in advance of the tour date.

Refunds will not be given for people who do not show up on the day of the tour. If 4 people are booked and only three people come, we will not refund for the “no show person”. We understand that situations may arise when a person might be unable to attend but it is your responsibility to phone and explain the situation, even when the tour is just hours away. All reservations must be booked and paid in advance.

GRATUITIES

Payment total does not include customary guide gratuities for the Prospector, Performance, and some Combo Tours. We appreciate and encourage gratuity on these tours but it is not required. The High Adventure Tour and some Combo Tours apply an automatic gratuity. Please review tour page details to learn more.

TOUR LENGTH

Our two hour tours are the Prospector, Performance, and Two Hour High Adventure. We do offer a Three Hour High Adventure Tour as well! If you choose to book a Combo Tour, tour lengths may vary depending on the options you choose. Take a look at the Combo Tours page for more details.

CHECK-IN LOCATION

Prospector Tours
Check in at the Turquoise Lake riding area, (1668 County Road 99, Leadville, Co., 80461)

Performance, High Adventure and Zip Lining Tours
Check-in at the main White Mountain Base Camp, 6492 Highway 91, Leadville, Co., 80461.

Please bring protective eye wear, gloves or mittens, and a credit card with you to the base camp. Sunscreen is recommended, especially for the kids! We suggest a 15%-20% guide gratuity at the guest’s discretion.

WHERE TO KEEP YOUR THINGS

Prospector Tour: The best place to keep your stuff is in your car! 

Performance Tour, High Adventures Tours: You are more than welcome to leave your belongings in basecamp! We do not have locked lockers and White Mountain Snowmobile Tours Inc is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.

THINGS TO DO IN LEADVILLE

Did you know Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America? At 10,152ft in elevation there is an abundance of Colorado activities! If you are looking for food and shopping we recommend parking somewhere along main street and exploring from there! If you’re looking for some history and more about Leadville’s unique history you can visit the Mining Museum. 

DISTANCE FROM LEADVILLE

We are located just outside Leadville, it is about a 10 minute drive max to reach main street from either of our locations!

WHERE TO GET FOOD NEARBY

We are located under 10 minutes from main street in Leadville, CO! We highly recommend parking along main street and taking a stroll, there are several local restaurants and food trucks that have a tasty selection!
