What You Need to Know

We know that planning an exciting snowmobile adventure can raise plenty of questions, and we’re here to make the process as straightforward as possible. From details about our tour options and equipment requirements to tips for making the most of your time in Leadville, this page covers all the essentials to help you prepare for your trip.

Do you provide transportation to your location?
No, we do not provide transportation. Additionally, using Uber or Lyft is not recommended due to spotty cell service in our high mountain area, which could make it difficult to secure a return ride. For reliable transportation options, visit our Useful Links page.

What gear is provided, and what should I bring?
We provide helmets for all participants. Please note:

  • Ski helmets are not allowed.
  • We do not provide winter suits, boots, or goggles.

Guests must arrive dressed in warm, appropriate winter clothing, including jackets, pants, gloves, scarves, goggles or sunglasses, and face coverings like scarves, masks, or neck gaiters. Guests not properly dressed will be unable to participate.

Are there age or weight restrictions for participants?
Yes, the following restrictions apply:

  • Children under 4 years old cannot participate.
  • Children must weigh at least 60 pounds.
  • No one weighing more than 260 pounds can zipline.
  • Pregnant individuals cannot participate in any activities.

Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, all participants must sign a liability waiver before engaging in any activity. Waivers are signed upon arrival. A credit card is also required at check-in to cover potential damages (though damages are rare).

Are gratuities included in the price?
Gratuities are not included for the Prospector, Performance, and some Combo Tours. While optional, guide gratuities are appreciated. For the High Adventure Tour and select Combo Tours, an automatic gratuity is applied. See individual tour pages for specific details.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations to issue a full refund. No refunds are provided for no-shows or last-minute changes in group size. For cancellations within 48 hours, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your situation.

What are your tour times and durations?

  • Tour Times: 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
  • Tour Lengths:
    • Two-hour tours: Prospector, Performance, and Two-Hour High Adventure.
    • Three-hour tours: Three-Hour High Adventure.
    • Combo Tours: Lengths vary based on chosen activities.

Where are your check-in locations?

  • Prospector Tours: Turquoise Lake Riding Area (1668 County Road 99, Leadville, CO 80461).
  • Performance, High Adventure, and Ziplining Tours: White Mountain Base Camp (6492 Highway 91, Leadville, CO 80461).

Where can I keep my belongings during the tour?

  • Prospector Tours: Keep your belongings in your car.

Performance & High Adventure Tours: You may leave items at the base camp, but we do not provide lockers. White Mountain Snowmobile Tours is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
